Queridos amigos, si confiamos en que Cristo mora en nosotros, hemos de seguir la Palabra que dice “ya no vivo yo, más Cristo vive en mí” (Gálatas 2:20).
Si Cristo vive en mí, el propósito de vivir una vida para uno mismo queda atrás, pues ahora es preciso dejar brillar a Cristo, viviendo para Él. Mientras el yo del creyente mengua, Cristo ha de ir creciendo en él, para que sea el Señor, a quien todos vean.
Morir con Cristo representa vivir con entrega total a Él, sufrir y morir con Él, para que pueda surgir una nueva vida, muchísimo más rica por lo verdadera. Esto es locura para los impíos, alguien que desee vivir una vida así es visto como un fracasado, pero al creyente no le cabe duda de las bondades de la vida venidera.
La única preocupación del creyente verdadero debe ser estar aprobado ante Dios. Para ello debe tomar conciencia de su deber cristiano y empezar a cumplirlo. Es preciso recorrer el camino recto, pero estrecho, de la santidad, sin desviarse por senderos agradables pero intrascendentes. Su testimonio debe reflejar a su Señor, mostrando que Cristo vive en él.
Si el hombre natural está dispuesto a esforzarse por cosas irrelevantes y vanas, pues su trascendencia se limita a este mundo, ¿cuánto más ha de esforzarse el hombre espiritual por las cosas verdaderamente relevantes a su alcance? Solo la fe verdadera conseguirá que el creyente anhele esforzarse por vivir como su Señor manda, con fe intelectual vivirá, en el mejor de los casos, una vida tibia combinando esfuerzos entre el cielo y la tierra.
No solo porque el Señor examinará la clase de siervos (obreros) que hemos sido, usemos su Palabra para edificar nuestras vidas sobre ella, usándola para nuestra diaria edificación. Solo en la Palabra encontraremos la guía perfecta de cómo vivir en servicio para Cristo.
Cristo entregó su vida por pecadores, y si somos llamados, nuestra vocación ha de ser orientada por el amor hacia quien nos llamó. Los creyentes hemos de ser siervos obedientes por amor. La salvación es un regalo de gracia, y como tal, ya es nuestra. Nuestro esfuerzo de llegar a la meta no será para que el Señor nos reciba reprobados, pues Él asegura que todo convertido tiene morada en cielo.
Es necesario vivir cada día aprobados por Dios, presentarnos esforzados y valientes ante Él, para que no tengamos nada de que avergonzarnos, porque estamos aplicando bien la Palabra de verdad. Hemos de hablar lo correcto, adecuado y oportuno, sin desgastarnos en vanas palabrerías.
Existen creyentes que descuidan la lectura de las Escrituras, dejando de lado ese alimento, que permite estar sólido y fuerte. La penosa consecuencia es que muy probablemente serán avergonzados en la segunda venida de Jesucristo.
Así como la comida diaria es vital para el cuerpo, el alimento espiritual de la Palabra es indispensable para el alma. El estudio de la Biblia con diligencia y constancia es un alimento espiritual del cual no se puede prescindir. Si no nos nutrimos de dicho alimento, corremos el gran riesgo de caer en error, porque, debilitados, estaremos adormilados para con Dios, descuidando el único propósito para discurrir esta vida.
Por lo cual, oh amados, estando en espera de estas cosas, procuren con diligencia ser hallados por Dios, sin mancha e irreprensibles, en paz (2 Pedro 3:14). Porque el que en esto sirve a Cristo, agrada a Dios, y es aprobado por los hombres (Romanos 14:18). Porque no es aprobado el que se alaba a sí mismo, sino aquel a quien Dios alaba (2 Corintios 10:18).
