Mantengamos firme, sin fluctuar, la profesión de nuestra esperanza, porque fiel es el que prometió. Y considerémonos unos a otros para estimularnos al amor y a las buenas obras; no dejando de congregarnos, como algunos tienen por costumbre, sino exhortándonos; y tanto más, cuanto veis que aquel día se acerca.» Hebreos 10:23-25 RVR1960
Queridos amigos, es fundamental tener en claro que se trata de un creyente hablando a otros creyentes.
El creyente genuino es un convertido por definición, lo cual conlleva haber primero creído en Jesucristo como Señor y salvador y haber sido regenerado en espíritu, justificado y santificado, vivir en santidad para finalmente gozar de vida eterna.
Al leer este pasaje se podría llegar a pensar que las buenas obras de las que habla el autor son para salvación, ese sería un grave error. Las buenas obras son acciones de bondad que se dan como resultado de llevar a Jesús en el corazón. La palabra dice que la fe sin obras es fe muerta, por lo tanto es menester de todo convertido hacer buenas obras.
El amor que se debe profesar entre hermanos en Cristo es el tipo de amor descrito en 1 Corintios 13, un amor que no busca lo suyo y que todo lo aguanta.
Por fe el creyente puede tener la firme esperanza en la vida eterna, especialmente si se sabe de quién viene la promesa.
El apoyo y la exhortación entre creyentes es determinante, además de el deber de congregarse. El crecimiento espiritual se da a través de la vida en comunidad con los hermanos en Cristo.
Todo esto se hace para la gloria de Dios, en la firme esperanza de que cualquier rato tendremos a Jesús con nosotros en su segunda venida.
